Summer at a glance

I know that we have been serious blog slackers lately. So I decided to just post a bunch of pictures of some of the things we have done this summer. We have had a great summer. Carter is so much fun to be around. He is super busy though. We can't leave him alone for a second. I swear he is always looking for trouble. We have had a lot of fun going to the zoo, children's museum, swimming, family trip to Idaho, family trip to Omaha, and hiking to name a few. We had a great summer, I am sad it is over. For Carters birthday in June we had a swimming/pizza party in my parents backyard. Carter loves to climb up on everything the only problem with that is he doesn't know how to get down yet. I am surprised this boy hasn't had stitches yet. It isn't a matter of if but when for him. He is such a dare devil. These pictures aren't in order sorry.

Happenings

So there has been a lot going on with us lately so I am going to post an overall update of the Happenings. At the beginning of April I had the chance to go to Scottsdale, AZ with some of my amazing girlfriends. Since I am way to lazy to post the picture if you want to see us crazy girls in action check out some of my friends blogs for pictures. I had so much fun. It was the longest I have ever left Carter and I missed him like crazy but it was really fun to get together with the girls and get some R & R and laugh a lot.

Easter was fun! I left Arizona with my girlfriends Easter morning at 4am. We got into SLC around 5pm. Jamie and I went to my parents house for Easter dinner. I had only a little time to spend with them because I had to work that night 7pm-730am. I think I was up for like 24 hours or more, but it was totally worth it.
The next weekend April 18th I ran the Salt Lake City half marathon. Now I had every intention to train for the race but got busy and just didn't make the time to run that I needed to. So the Friday before the race I went to the expo and signed myself up for the race. I didn't train at all and was sore for about 4 days after. It was a lot of fun though and I was glad that I did it. Races are so much fun. I had to walk a little after 9 miles so my time really sucked but I had a goal of running it in less than 3 hours. I made that goal barely but I think my time was like 2:54 I know pretty pathetic. I really do need to start running because I am doing the Wasatch back with my brother and sister in law and their team in June. I am really excited to do the Wasatch back/Ragnar relay this year for those who want to know more about it, here is there website. http://www.ragnarrelay.com/index.php

Jamie has had a little break off of school. It has been so nice having him around and not studying all the time. I am so proud of him he got such good grades this semester in graduate level courses. Way to go babe! Jamie is taking one class this Summer and is looking for a job in the school system. So if anyone has any leads send them our way.

Carter is 11 months old today (May 17th) I can hardly believe my baby is almost a year. He is such a fun kid. He is starting to walk a little. The most I have seen him do is take three steps in a row. He loves being outside, riding in his stroller, eating fruit, clapping his hands, waving bye bye, getting into everything he shouldn't, playing with his cars, and jumping on the tramp to name a few. He is so much fun and I couldn't imagine life any other way without him.

SO big in his front facing car seat. He loves going on drives.

Spring Skiing

Had the opportunity to go skiing with my brothers Spencer and Marc and sister Emily. It was so much fun to go spring skiing with them. I was with all my siblings except for my brother Mike who lives in Hong Kong. That night Jamie, Carter and I went to a BYU volleyball game with my brother Marc and sister in law Tracie and there little girl Jenna who is a little older then Carter. We were able to score 3rd row seats it was awesome. Best part is BYU (5) beat UC Irvine (1) it rocked. Carter even made his first TV depute at the game.

Update

So I have been given a really hard time with my lack of blogging lately. I know it has been four months since I have blogged last. In my defense for some reason blogging totally intimidates me. Then when I sit down at the computer to upload an image I realize it isn't that hard then I think to myself why did this take me so long to do. Things have been going good for us. Jamie is busy in school at the University of Utah. He just had spring break it was so much fun having him around we were able to get some projects around the house done. Carter is busy as ever. Seriously the kid can not sit still. He is always on the move. He turned nine months old on March 17th. At nine months he is 28.5 inches long and weighs 20 pounds 11 ounces. He has a laugh and seven tooth smile that lights up a room. He loves crawling all over. We have even caught him standing for seconds at a time. He likes to clap his hands together and is learning how to wave good-bye.

My high school friends can attest that I have zero creative skills. But my sister has really done a good job at helping me discover my creative abilities. I have been having so much fun working on Carter's scrapbook.

Here is the most recent page of Carter's scrapbook. I love this one. I normally don't put nearly this much effort into one page, but I saw this idea and copied it from a magazine.
I took this picture today (Sunday) after church. He was so tired he fell asleep sitting up in his crib.

One of Carter's favorite places to play is under the table.

Carter absolutely loves his cousin Jake. Whenever he sees him he starts to laugh. Carter was climbing on Jake like they were wrestling. This is on St. Patricks day.
Enough said!

During Jamie's spring break he wanted to do something for Carter's room, so he free hand drew the sea creatures from Carters bedding. Then we mod podged it onto this magnet frame that we painted white. He worked really hard on it and I think it turned out awesome! Way to go Jamie!

Carter's first time in the pool was at his friend Emmett's birthday party. He loves the pool. We will definitely have to go a lot this summer.

It's been so long. He's grown so much.

I know it has been a long time and I have been a lazy blogger. Things have been busy around here. We had such a great Halloween. Carter was such a cute little pumpkin (thanks Emily for letting us borrow the costume). I love Halloween and fall time in general. It was fun to watch all the leaves change colors. I am not to excited for the snow however. Carter is growing up so much. He changes everyday. He will be five months old on the 17th! He has more tricks now. He loves to blow bubbles with his lips. Roll over both directions. He is such a people watcher. He loves playing with his toys. I put Carter in the jumper one day and he just kind of swung around in it. Then the next time I put him in it and he totally remembered how it worked and jumped up and down. He loves it now. I can't believe how fast he got the hang of it. We are just busy working and enjoying our family time when we have some. Enjoy the pictures. My disclaimer for the video of Carter doing his business. I thought it definitely is one of those things that the parents only think is funny. But Jamie said no it is hilarious you need to put it on. So sorry if you think it is a bit strange. Not my fault.

Such a happy kid!

My boys!

Ok this is pretty funny. Carter learned how to roll over awhile back. I would go into check on him during his nap time and this is what I would find. He always got stuck on his tummy and didn't know how to get back. He just recently learned how to roll from his stomach to his back.

Halloween party and Emily's (thanks em that was fun)

One evening Carter was being fussy and I wanted to watch my show "The Office". So, Jamie set him on the ottoman in front of the TV and he was quiet and watched the show with me.

How can you not smile. Look at that face.

3 Months Old

So we can't believe Carter is already 3 months old. He is so much fun to be around. Here are some pictures Jamie and I took of Carter at 3 months old. Some of Carters likes and dislikes. Likes: baths, getting his diaper changed, going on walks, sitting in his swing, playing with his mom and dad, eating, giggling, kicking his legs, sleeping at night, playing with his toys, staring at the lights on his mobile, playing with his cousins, sucking on his fist. Dislikes: tummy time, getting burped, and his car seat. We love our little man and can't believe he is already 3 months old. Enjoy the pictures.
